Are you a scholar feeling stuck in your writing process? If you find yourself avoiding the parts of your manuscript that you know are most important; are afraid to say what you really think, even when only you will see that draft; or are so terrified you’ll miss something that you never stop reading — this workshop is for you. Join IRRPP and writing coach Michelle Boyd from InkWell Academic Writing Retreats online or in person for the Unstuck workshop which will teach you a simple technique for surfacing the thoughts and feelings that keep you from writing. During the workshop, you will:

• Uncover the core elements of your unique writing process
• Identify what is and isn’t working in your current process
• Learn how your process can move you past your barriers

By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to accurately predict what struggles you’ll face in any given writing session; identify strategies prior to embarking on your work; and overcome writing challenges more quickly and easily. Please use the link below to register for in person or for online participation.

About the Series: IRRPP's Faculty Development Program and Emerging Scholars Program supports UIC faculty and graduate students who are doing research on race/ethnicity that has the potential to contribute to policy conversations and actions. In addition to material support, these programs also provide workshops throughout the year to develop faculty and graduate student capacity for policy and public engagement, to foster a strong writing practice, and to shape ongoing research projects.
