The Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy is proud to celebrate our accomplished faculty. Please join us as we gather to recognize their many and varied achievements from the past year. Here is a summary of some of the books by UIC faculty that we are honoring and celebrating.

Nilda Flores Gonzales, Sociology

Her book, Citizens but Not Americans: Race and Belonging among Latino Millennials, was published by New York University Press in October of 2017.

Maria Krysan, Sociology and Instute of Government and Public Affairs, and Kyle Crowder

Their book, Cycle of Segregation: Social Processes and Residential Stratification, was published by the Russel Sage Foundation in December of 2017.

Nadine Naber Gender and Women's Studies & Global Asian Studies and the Arab American Action Network

Their book, Towards the Sun, is the third issue of the Arab Women’s Committee (AWC) and describes the challenges Arab immigrant and refugee women face in greater Chicago, as well as AWC members’ dedication to transform their own lives and the lives of others in their communities. The book was published July of 2017.
