Grants, Grants, Grants! How to Fund Your Research at UIC
When: September 23, 2015 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
What are ICR and F&A? Are they different from overhead?
Where: IRRPP Conference Room | Suite 219 | 1253 S. Halsted St.
Why does a portion of my grant go to the university?
What is tuition remission, or course buyout, or the PAF?
I need funding. Where do I start?
Come to IRRPP to find out the answers. We are pleased to offer the following grant workshop for faculty:
"Grants! Grants! Grants! a faculty grant workshop from IRRPP"
organized by the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy. This workshop will provide an overview of the process of applying for external funding at UIC.
This workshop is part of IRRPP Faculty Development program and is intended for all faculty and researchers at UIC doing research on race/ethnicity, but it is open to other disciplines as well. It is especially useful for junior faculty and investigators new to UIC. Advanced graduate students are welcome, but they are encouraged to attend the grant workshop specific to graduate students offered in Spring.
The workshop is taught by Francesca Gaiba, PhD, Certified Pre-award Research Administrator, who has 12 years of experience helping faculty members apply for and obtain external grants.

Refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you there!
